Hina has been in the field of Human Potential for almost 15 years. From a very young age, this Thornhill native (now Toronto eastender) has loved connecting with others. This passion for helping translates into many roles at The Khan Institute – Psychotherapist, Personal Development coach and parenting/relationship expert (you may remember seeing her on CBC’s Steven and Chris and W Network’s Save Us From Our House.) Through her workshops, seminars and coaching, she has made lasting change for thousands of clients. Her latest program is on helping people Turn Ideas into Income.

We all need Hina in our lives.

Motherhood at the Moment

I have two boys – 8 and 6 years-old. At the moment, motherhood is about schedules! My husband is a chef so his hours are not conventional and neither are mine, so it is can get a little tricky to coordinate our schedules to have our kids in a more stable routine.

Current Kid Challenge

I always find this time of year difficult with all the “stuff” that comes with the holidays. My youngest son has his birthday in September and then my oldest is in November and then we go into Christmas and it just feels like the last few months of year has a lot of “stuff” attached to it.

Keep Mom Sane

Exercise really makes a difference for me and that consists of walking and yoga (I head to Bye Yoga.)  I always know when I am in need of some yoga when my husband tells me I should try to get to a class! I also don’t put the boys in a lot of activities – with our schedules, it would just add more stress.

Favourite Hood

I love Riverdale, Withrow Park and the Danforth.  I love the fact that the boys are not in a car during the week and that they walk to school. My husband bikes to and from work and I can walk to my office.

Favourite Place to Visit as a Family

We really like to go for family walks at the Brick Works.  We usually end up there in the fall and the winter.

Perfect day alone in Toronto

I love going for a walk in the neighbourhood and then taking myself out for lunch on the Danforth. Casa Sushi and Mocha Mocha are some of favourite lunch spots.
