So, it’s still winter. And I am done hibernating.
Thank goodness Toronto has yet another spot to entice you outdoors. It has taken us most of the winter months to finally make it to Ontario Place to check out the new art exhibition that has been lighting up the Lake Ontario shores this season. The Winter Light Exhibition, featuring 18 installations by local and international artists, is on display daily on the West Island until March 17, 2019.
What’s there?
The night we went, it was frigid (like I couldn’t take my gloves off to take photos frigid) — but it was beautiful and bright. The art is west of the Cinesphere, with paths lit with fairy lights on 100-plus trees and on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and some holidays, there are bonfires, food, drink and skating from late afternoon through the evening. The biggest light of all is the iconic Cinesphere (which was the first permanent IMAX to open in the world), has been reopened, screening classic and new films and docs for all ages. Check out the Cinesphere schedule here.
TRIP TIPS:
Getting there: Ontario Place is accessible by car, TTC (plus 15 minute walk), or walking/biking. Paid parking on site. Directions here.

Mark your calendars:Full Family Day line-up for Friday, February 15 through Monday, February 18, 2019 with extra activities like a Skate Party and a YMCA Pop Up Camp (that includes campfire songs and a big broom ball game.)
