Withrow PinkThis east end park is a happening hub for families in the Danforth and Riverdale neighbourhoods. We’ve made it our destination for many of its offerings – tons of green space for running and picnicking, wading pool in the summer, skating in the winter, ball hockey, City of Toronto programs, Saturday farmers’ market and now a brand spanking new playground.

Unveiled end of July, this new fenced in playground has two climbing structures (on wood chips) on either side of a shaded sitting area. There are slides, teeter totters and tons of park toys. In the far northwest corner the new sand box with a water pump has been a hit with everyone (except staff operating the wading pool that is.)

TRIP TIPS:

Getting there: This eight-hectare park is one block south of the Danforth in between Logan and Carlaw Avenues. Free residential street parking in the hood, though some streets are one-hour only. Paid parking along the Danforth is $2.25/hr. By TTC, walk west from Pape subway and walk south along Carlaw. On the Pape bus, you can get off at Wroxeter and walk west into the park.

Potty time: Yes, washrooms on-site.

Mark your calendars. For these annual summer events in the park: Dusk Dances (early August); Shakespeare in the Ruff.
