Little Jingle Beans’ Cinderella at Little White Sneakers.

It’s a magical story time!

Our friends at Little White Sneakers host a weekly story time on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. with childhood entertainment provider Little Jingle Beans. That means your littles will be entranced with stories, songs and games with friends like Cinderella, the Little Mermaid and Maona. (PS – the Island Voyager is making a special appearance on Sunday, April 23 at 11:30 a.m.) And it’s free!

Little White Sneakers is far from your average kids clothing store. Toronto moms Kara and Raegan launched their online Toronto-based marketplace to help parents easily and affordably find gently used and almost new high quality clothes – a counter to an industry where kids clothing is dominated by massed produced cheap fast fashion. They’ve expanded to the Toronto storefont on Mount Pleasant (just south of Eglington) with even more options from local designers and high quality brands that you can feel good about supporting and putting on your kid.

Have a listen to what motivates them – and us – to make a change in how we shop:

Sustainable Fashion for the Modern Kid

The kids clothing industry is dominated by fast fashion (i.e. the mass production of cheap clothes). We have heard too many scary environmental and human rights stories about it. Fortunately, there is a growing movement towards responsible and sustainable fashion. As we celebrate Earth Day on April 22 and remember the Rana Plaza tragedy on April 24, be inspired to make a change. Please watch and share!
